Located just one train ride from Kansai International Airport, EXPERIEAT Osaka Flavors is a cooking studio opened in 2015, situated in the lively Namba district—surrounded by iconic tourist spots such as Dotonbori and Kuromon Market. Here, visitors can enjoy a unique hands-on experience of making, learning, and tasting Japanese cuisine, all while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of Osaka. The studio is led by YUCCO, the founder and owner who has traveled to over 40 countries and participated in local cooking classes around the world. Drawing on her experiences, she has built a cooking school that embraces diverse food cultures and religious dietary practices—including Halal, vegan, and Kosher. Born from her passion to create a space where “anyone, regardless of religion or cultural background, can feel safe and enjoy learning Japanese home cooking,” EXPERIEAT’s recipes and ingredient selections are carefully developed with input from international friends and specialists. The cooking classes not only offer authentic flavor, but also ensure safety and peace of mind through the use of ingredients and seasonings that meet various dietary standards such as Halal.
Meals prepared during the class can be enjoyed on-site or packed as bento to take away—perfect for cherry blossom picnics in spring or autumn outings under the falling leaves. This hands-on cooking experience allows guests to enjoy their own homemade Japanese meals while immersed in the seasonal beauty of Japan. More than just a cooking class, EXPERIEAT Osaka Flavors is a place to gain deeper insight into Japanese culture through hands-on cooking experiences. It is deeply loved by travelers who want to better understand washoku, or share the joy of Japanese cuisine with friends and family.

Located amidst the bustling streets of Osaka’s Namba district—famous for its sightseeing spots and local delicacies—EXPERIEAT Osaka Flavors offers a peaceful retreat just a step away from the lively cityscape. Once inside, guests are welcomed by a calm, home-like atmosphere that contrasts beautifully with the energy outside.
With direct train access from Kansai International Airport, the classroom draws visitors from around the world. What makes EXPERIEAT Osaka Flavors truly special is that it’s more than just a cooking class—it’s a place to gain deeper insight into Japanese culture through hands-on culinary experiences.
The owner, YUCCO, has traveled to over 40 countries and joined countless cooking classes around the world. Drawing from these experiences, she has created an inclusive space where everyone—from Halal, vegan, and kosher guests to those with specific dietary restrictions—can participate with confidence.
The classes are led by English-speaking instructors who offer warm and detailed guidance. From how to cook perfect Japanese rice to mastering the art of preparing dashi (Japanese soup stock), guests are invited to experience the joy of making, learning, and tasting traditional washoku cuisine.
Even beginners with no prior cooking experience can feel at ease, thanks to the hands-on, friendly atmosphere that encourages both learning and enjoyment.
One of the most popular offerings at EXPERIEAT Osaka Flavors is the “RAMEN & GYOZA TREND CLASS”—a hands-on cooking course where participants learn to prepare two of Japan’s most beloved dishes.
For many international visitors, dining out in Japan can come with uncertainty, especially when it’s unclear what ingredients or seasonings are used. This course addresses those concerns by using carefully selected recipes and ingredients that accommodate Halal, vegan, and other dietary needs. Participants are guided through each step while confirming what goes into their dishes, ensuring that everyone can join with peace of mind, regardless of religious or cultural background.
A highlight of the class is the opportunity to make two distinct types of ramen, allowing guests to explore different soup bases and toppings while discovering their personal favorite. The gyoza segment includes everything from preparing the filling to wrapping the dumplings from scratch—offering a deeper appreciation for Japanese home-style cooking.
At the heart of washoku is rice, and at EXPERIEAT Osaka Flavors, it is prepared with the utmost care using a traditional clay pot (donabe). Each pot is cooked individually, producing freshly steamed white rice that glistens with luster, has a light and fluffy texture, and carries a gentle natural sweetness. It’s a simple dish, yet it captures the very essence of Japanese flavor—an expression of the school’s deep commitment to authenticity.
Guests are welcome to enjoy their completed dishes on-site, or pack them into a bento box to take away. Depending on the season, they may also be encouraged to take their homemade Japanese meal outdoors—to enjoy under cherry blossoms or autumn leaves for a truly local-style experience that connects food with nature.
To ensure a comfortable and inclusive space for Muslim guests, the classroom is equipped with a prayer mat and water for ablution. English-language recipe booklets are also available for purchase, making it easy to recreate other Japanese dishes with family and friends after returning home.
Blending cultural discovery with hands-on learning, EXPERIEAT Osaka Flavors offers a memorable and enriching experience that adds warmth and depth to any journey. For those seeking a uniquely Osaka experience that goes beyond sightseeing, this cooking class is not to be missed.
