In response to feedback from Muslim guests saying, “It’s hard to find food we can eat in Japan,” Kaden began offering Halal-friendly kaiseki courses in 2023. This initiative stemmed from the hotel’s desire to better serve Muslim travelers. Although there were initially challenges in understanding Halal requirements and adjusting kitchen protocols, the staff came together to study and improve, eventually establishing a course that could be offered with confidence and care.
All meats and seasonings used in the Halal course are certified Halal, with meticulous attention paid to religious considerations. The restaurant has also obtained the “Halal Friendly Mark” from the Japan Muslim Association. Dishes include freshly fried seasonal tempura, sukiyaki with a delicately sweet Halal broth, and a hearty Halal wagyu steak rice bowl—all designed to let guests experience the depth of Japanese tradition and seasonal flavors with peace of mind.
Private rooms are also available at Kaden, and when unoccupied, they can be used as prayer spaces. Every effort has been made to create a welcoming environment—both in terms of space and service—so that Muslim guests can dine with ease.
